Choosing The Song

The first step to making our video, was to choose a song. We searched all over YouTube and http://www.unsigned.com/ in order to try and find an unknown, unsigned band or artist. Eventually we were lead to The 99's, a band that had appeared on 'Hollyoaks' recently and so were slowly gaining popularity. We saw this video of their song 'Oh Me Oh My' and felt that this was the sort of music we were looking for, a nice up beat song that would target people of our age group and so we decided we could make a video that would easily relate to its target audience. We then contacted the band to see if this was possible and received the go ahead. From then, we started our research into the indie genre and eventually started planning our video.

Initial Email:

Dear The 99s
We are two students from a A2 level media class from St.Peters School in Guildford, and we are wondering if you could give us permission to make a music video of your song 'Oh Me Oh My'. If you will allow us to use this song could you please send us the lyrics?
Thank you very much,
George Stephens and Jo Molloy.

Response:
Thats absolutely no problem at all.
Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the lyrics to hand, but they're pretty straight forward.

If you send us a link to your final product we'd be happy for you to use it.

Kind regards,
James - The 99s
